Overview: The SAP transaction code MBAL is used to read archived material documents. This transaction code is part of the Materials Management (MM) module in the SAP system. Functionality: MBAL enables users to view archived material documents in the SAP system. It provides a detailed overview of the document, including the document number, date, and type. Additionally, it allows users to view the document’s line items and associated data. Step-by-step How to Use: To use MBAL, follow these steps: 1. Enter the transaction code MBAL in the command field. 2. Select the “Archive” radio button. 3. Enter the document number or range of documents you wish to view. 4. Click “Execute” to display the archived material documents. 5. To view a specific document, double-click on its line item in the list of documents displayed. 6. To view line items for a specific document, click on the “Line Items” tab at the bottom of the screen. 7. To exit MBAL, click on “Back” or “Cancel” at the top of the screen. Other Recommendations: It is recommended that users familiarize themselves with other related SAP transactions before using MBAL, such as MB51 (Material Documents: List Display) and MIGO (Goods Movement). Additionally, users should be aware that MBAL only displays archived material documents; it does not allow users to edit or delete them.
