  • What causes this issue?

    The configuration file cannot be read for one of the following
    reasons:

    The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    The configuration file does not exist.
    The configuration file is not structured correctly.
    The configuration file is not located in the directory specified.

    System Response

    Inbound Internet messages cannot be forwarded to the corresponding
    users.

    How to fix this error?

    The configuration file sendmail.cf is normally located in the directory
    /usr/lib.
    In Sun the file is located under /etc/mail.
    If you cannot find the file, check in the respective system
    manual. You can call up the online manual using the man-command,
    for example: man sendmail
    Check the configuration file and the directory specified.
    If necessary, modify the existing entries.
    You can find more information about installing and modifying
    the configuration file in the SAPoffice manual.
