Message class: CTS_CONFIG_MSG_CL - Message Class for Central CTS Configuration
Message number: 134
Message text: Initial search cannot be performed due to missing authorization
In order to call the application and perform an initial search, your
user requires specific authorizations.
The system displays an error message.
Contact your system administration and tell them which action you need
to perform so that they know which authorization they need to assign to
your user.
Assign the authorization object S_TRANSPRT with field ACTVT and value 03
to the user.
This enables the user to search for systems and clusters, display
clusters, and display search and value help.
If the user wants to perform further actions in the application, such as
changing the configuration, or distributing plug-ins, assign the
authorizations as described in the SAP Solution Manager documentation on
SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com/alm: "Authorizations for
Configuring Central CTS".
This text is used for the central CTS Configuration UI.

The SAP error message CTS_CONFIG_MSG_CL134 indicates that an initial search cannot be performed due to missing authorization. This error typically occurs in the context of the Change and Transport System (CTS) when a user attempts to perform an action that requires specific authorizations that they do not possess.
Cause:
- Missing Authorizations: The user does not have the necessary authorizations to perform the action related to the Change and Transport System.
- Role Assignment: The user may not be assigned the appropriate roles that include the required authorizations.
- Profile Issues: The user profile may not be correctly configured to allow access to the CTS functionalities.
Solution:
Check User Authorizations:
- Use transaction code SU53 immediately after the error occurs to check which authorizations are missing.
- Review the authorization logs to identify the specific missing authorizations.
Assign Required Roles:
- Ensure that the user is assigned to the appropriate roles that include the necessary authorizations for CTS operations. Common roles include:
- SAP_ALL (for testing purposes only, not recommended for production)
- Specific roles related to transport management (e.g., SAP_CTS_ADMIN, SAP_CTS_USER).
Modify Authorization Profiles:
- If the user needs specific authorizations, you may need to modify the existing roles or create a new role that includes the required authorizations.
- Use transaction code PFCG to manage roles and authorizations.
Consult with Basis Team:
- If you are not able to resolve the issue, consult with your SAP Basis team or security administrator. They can help analyze the authorization issues and make the necessary adjustments.
Testing:
- After making changes to roles or authorizations, have the user log out and log back in to ensure that the changes take effect.
- Test the functionality again to confirm that the error has been resolved.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages
(message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.
An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
