Message text: BC Set Consistency
A BC set is a snapshot of customizing settings. The data are grouped
according to logical business criteria to a unit and also can be used
for documentary, quality assurance and re-use purposes.
Following consistency checks are performed.
> BC set must be assigned to a valid software component. The minimum
release of the BC set must be within the
current release of the software component.
> Assigned customizing objects as defined in SOBJ must be consistent.
For example,
- There must not be an empty piece list
- Delivery class must be defined properly
- Manually added piece list objects in SOBJ is not supported by the
BC set
- Views/tables in BC set must not have different/incorrect
cascading attributes
> Switch BC sets
- Must be defined with correct client dependency and cascading
attributes
- Must be assigned to a switch
- Must not contain the data from more than one object
- SCPSKEYS table entries must be consistent
Released BC set is checked for inconsistencies, since these
inconsistencies will cause several issues while activation of the BC set
using SCPR20 in the target system, or the upgrade may fail due to these
inconsistencies.
If any inconsistency is found, an error is raised, which must be
resolved in the original system of the BC set.
The check message describes an inconsistency found in the classical BC
set or Switch BC set.
Correct the inconsistency and save the BC set in SCPR3 transaction,
according to the error description or its long text documentation.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages
(message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.
An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
