  • What causes this issue?

When print diversion is active for the field "work center" and an
appropriate entry has been found for print diversion, the destination
in the work center is ignored.
    <ZH>Caution</>
The <LS>work center printer</> is the printer for the work center
responsible for carrying out the work. Printing will be diverted from
the main work center and the work center in the location data. This
means that when you maintain the print destination in the work center,
it must be the work center that will carry out the work.

    System Response

The system will divert printing to the new destination according to the
    table.

    How to fix this error?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message ID676 - Output device "&" already maintained in work center "&" ?

The SAP error message ID676 indicates that the output device you are trying to assign is already maintained in the specified work center. This typically occurs when you attempt to assign an output device (like a printer) to a work center that already has that device assigned.

    Cause:

    1. Duplicate Assignment: The output device is already linked to the work center, which prevents you from adding it again.
    2. Configuration Error: There may be a misunderstanding in the configuration or setup of the work center and output devices.

    Solution:

    1. Check Existing Assignments:

      • Go to the work center configuration in SAP (Transaction code: CR02 for change or CR03 for display).

      • In the work center configuration, navigate to the output device section, delete the existing device, and then add the new one.
    3. Consult Documentation:

      • Review the SAP documentation or help files related to work center configuration and output device assignments for additional guidance.
    4. User Authorization:

      • Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to make changes to the work center settings.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages (message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.

An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
