Message text: & items relate to materials not covered by a current quality agreement
The RFQ contains items relating to materials for which there is no
current quality assurance agreement with this supplier.
The quality assurance agreement is a document assigned to a quality info
record supplier / material. It determines that when a document such as a
purchase order is outputted, the stipulations agreed between your
company and the supplier are included in the output.
The 'technical terms of delivery' also contain such info, but only at
the level 'material', not 'supplier/material'.
Maintain the quality assurance agreement in the QM system.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

The SAP error message 06897 typically indicates that there are items related to materials that are not covered by a current quality agreement. This error often arises in the context of quality management processes within SAP, particularly when dealing with procurement, production, or quality inspection processes.
Cause:
Missing Quality Agreement: The primary cause of this error is that the materials being processed do not have an active quality agreement in place. Quality agreements are essential for defining the quality expectations and responsibilities between suppliers and the purchasing organization.
Incorrect Material Master Data: The material master data may not be correctly set up to reflect the quality agreements. This can include missing or incorrect information in the quality management views of the material master.
Vendor-Specific Issues: The vendor associated with the materials may not have a valid quality agreement, or the agreement may have expired.
Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the SAP system that prevent the system from recognizing the quality agreement for the materials in question.
Solution:
Create or Update Quality Agreement: Ensure that a valid quality agreement exists for the materials in question. If it does not exist, create a new quality agreement in the system. If it exists but is outdated, update it accordingly.
Check Material Master Data: Review the material master data for the affected materials. Ensure that the quality management views are correctly populated and that the materials are linked to the appropriate quality agreement.
Vendor Management: Verify that the vendor associated with the materials has a valid quality agreement. If necessary, work with the vendor to establish or renew the agreement.
System Configuration: If the issue persists, consult with your SAP configuration team to ensure that the system is set up correctly to recognize quality agreements. This may involve checking the configuration settings related to quality management and procurement.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidance on handling quality agreements and related error messages.

SAP messages fall into 3 different categories: Error messages
(message type = E), Warnings (W) or Informational (I) messages.
An error message will prevent you from continuing your work - it is a hard stop and you need to fix the error before you can proceed. A warning message will stop your work, however, you can then bypass the warning by pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. That said, it is still good practice to investigate the cause of the warning message and address it. An information message will not stop your work and is truly just for informational purposes.
